A third culture kid who never left home.
My parents moved to Galle in 1997, when I was one, because they believed God called them here.
My father worked for Geoffrey Dobbs and Charles Hulse, two of Galle's earliest hospitality pioneers. I grew up around the two of them, and through them I met people from all over the world. My mother ran a Montessori school. Business and hospitality from one side, education from the other, and plenty more besides.
Church and school did the rest. I started working with young people at fourteen and went straight from school into events and festivals. Then South Africa happened, and everything took a turn.
I never really moved away. The world came to me instead: in the last two years, I've met more people from across the world than from Sri Lanka.
